About the project
Description

The Speciality Antimicrobial Chemotherapy Unit (SACU) is the UK national center for susceptibility testing for the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC). Dr Mandy Wootton and Dr Robin Howe are Secretary and Chairperson for the Susceptibility Testing working party. This committee has helped in the development of the European standardized method for susceptibility testing (EUCAST), currently used by over 80% of UK and European laboratories.

What does your project involve?

The project  involves various aspects, mainly developing susceptibility testing methodology, investigating new technologies and testing new developments for European guidelines.

Key outcomes

The improvement of patient care through better susceptibility testing.
