About the project

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) UK work in partnership with a range of paediatrics associations, hospitals, global Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), local partners and key decision makers to advance global child health through a series of programmatic interventions.

What does your project involve?

Each of the 22 College regions in the UK and the Republic of Ireland has an elected representative who represents members at Council, the RCPCH governing body.

Why are you working there?

Dr Lorna Price attends the joint RCPCH Wales Executive Committee/ National Specialty Advisory Group and the RCPCH Child Protection Standing Committee in London to represent and inform about safeguarding children activity in Wales.

Key outcomes

Committees advise on national policy in child health. The Safeguarding Children Service (SCS) Lead represents Welsh issues for safeguarding children from a medical health perspective. This ensures the Welsh voice is incorporated into UK-wide safeguarding guidance.
