Description

The Specialist Antimicrobial Chemotherapy Unit (SACU) contributes to United Kingdom (UK) and worldwide surveillance schemes: Antimicrobial resistance program SENTRY which is run by JMI Labs in the United States of America (USA).

What does your project involve?

JMI Laboratories directs many surveillance programs, including one of the world's largest, the SENTRY Antimicrobial Surveillance Program. Over 30,000 unique isolates are sent annually and processed through JMI Laboratories from its extensive network of participating hospitals and medical centers, including clinical information and isolates from Cardiff laboratory which are forwarded for further testing.  

Key outcomes

The program allows surveillance of antimicrobial resistance world-wide.
